Government of Karnataka to organize Pravasi Bharatiya Divas 2017 from 7 to 9 January

Under the supervision of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Government of Karnataka will organize Pravasi Bharatiya Divas 2017 from 7th to 9 th January 2017 at BIEC, Bengaluru.

Pravasi Bharatiya Divas or Indian Migrant Day (PBD) is celebrated on 9 January every year to observe the contribution of Overseas Indian community in the development of India. January 9 was selected as the day to commemorate this occasion since it was on this day in 1915 that Mahatma Gandhi, the heroic Pravasi, came back to India from South Africa, drove India’s freedom struggle and transformed the lives of Indians enduringly.
